Larry Seidman Award for Outstanding Mentorship
Recognises exceptional achievement in mentorship and advocacy on behalf of researchers and/or clinicians at an early career stage.
Criteria:
- Applications should describe the nominee’s exceptional achievement in mentorship and advocacy on behalf of researchers and/or clinicians at an early career stage.
- Evidence of outstanding mentorship could include examples of the ways in which the nominee has enhanced and developed the careers of others through mentorship e.g., by promoting the scientific and professional development and the advancement to independent research careers of new investigators, who are of diverse personal and professional backgrounds.
- Nominations from one IEPA member, at full professor level or established clinician in early intervention, and one at an early career stage, should outline the case for the nominee.
- Self-nominations are not allowed for this award.
Angelo Cocchi Translational Impact Award
Recognises the significance of translating research into real-world applications and the impact it has on society by an individual (researcher/ clinician) or a team
Criteria:
- Individuals (researchers and/or clinicians) or teams
- Applications should describe the individual's/team’s (the PI/team lead should be an IEPA member) contributions to the field of early intervention in mental health clearly highlighting how their research has created a positive impact in policy, practice, society, economy, people's lives, public engagement, locally, nationally or internationally.
- Nomination from at least one IEPA member OR self-nomination
- Evidence could be based on a single piece of work (e.g. single discovery) or a cumulative body of work.
Richard Wyatt Award for Remarkable Contribution to Early Intervention
Recognises an individual who has made a remarkable contribution to the advancement of early intervention in mental health.
Criteria:
- Applications should describe and provide evidence of:
- an established history in early intervention in mental health research.
- leadership and mentoring to researchers and/or clinicians at an early career stage.
- positively impacted the field of early intervention in mental health.
- Nomination from at least one IEPA Board member
The IEPA Lived Experience Award
Recognises individuals with lived or living experience of mental ill-health who have made a significant contribution to research, prevention, policy, advocacy, training, or clinical practice in the field of early intervention.
Criteria:
- Applications should provide a summary of the significant contributions of the nominee and, where relevant, impact.
- Evidence of significant contribution in the field of early intervention in mental health in one or more of the following areas: research, prevention, policy, advocacy, training, or clinical practice.
- The body of work may include research publications, technical reports and papers, books and book chapters, policy briefings, training manuals and other activities that establish the importance of the nominee's contributions.
- Nomination from at least one IEPA member OR self-nomination.
The IEPA Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMIC) Research Excellence Award
Recognizes researchers and/or clinicians (from LMICs, as defined by the World Bank) with demonstrated outstanding research achievements in early intervention in mental health in LMICs.
Criteria:
- Researchers and/or clinicians from LMICs (as defined by the World Bank).
- Applications should provide a summary of the significant research contributions of the nominee. The body of work may include research publications, technical reports and papers, books and book chapters, and other scholarly activities that establish the importance of the nominee's contributions.
- Evidence of research excellence will be assessed by evaluating the nominee’s body of work in the field of early intervention in mental health in LMICs.
- Nomination from at least one IEPA member OR self-nomination
The IEPA Emerging Leaders Award
Recognises early career researchers and/or clinicians who are making significant contributions (research, practice, policy) in early intervention in mental health and paving the way for future advancements.
Criteria:
- Eligible applicants will have completed their most recent degree (masters, PhD, MD, MBBS, nursing qualification, DClinPsyc, etc.), post-doctoral fellowship, residency training or clinical fellowship within the last 5 years. The awards are aimed at those who have not yet reached a senior clinical or academic role.
- Applications should include evidence of key achievements that highlight the nominee’s work in early intervention in mental health e.g. evidence of clinical expertise in the field; relevant publications on a topic related to early intervention in mental health.
- Nomination from at least one IEPA member OR self-nomination
